Rockyford is a small town situated between Calgary and Drumheller near Rosebud. With a population of under 500, they put on a surprisingly large rodeo (Rockyford Lions FCA Rodeo and Chuckwagon Races in July) each year attracting around 3000 people. The town was settled in 1913 and signs of its history are still about with some old store fronts. In fact, its character was enough to make it one of the towns featured in the movie Brokeback Mountain. Such sites include: the rodeo grounds, and the Childress Dance Hall facade.
